Review: Perfect Remains

Perfect Remains Perfect Remains by Helen Sarah Fields
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

#1 in a new series that features DI Luc Callanach. He’d been born in Scotland but spent much of his life in France, so is seen as a bit of an outsider….the accent doesn’t help.

He’s brusque at times but a committed and determined detective.

He starts work on a murder case. Elaine had been abducted and her body found burned, and now another woman has gone missing. Abducted from her home.

The descriptions of the abduction and the ‘procedures’ the victim is put through are truly horrific. I cannot imagine the fear and pain she endures, but the excellent reading by Robin Laing, really brings it to life. You can feel the tension.

Can Luc and his colleague DI Ava Turner find the killer before anyone else dies?

If you like your thrillers on the dark side, then you’ll love this. Great characters, a wonderfully dark plot, perfectly read by Robin Laing. An atmospheric and nerve wracking thriller. Perfect.

Thank you to Sanjana at Avon Books for the opportunity to take part in this audio book blog tour, for the promotional material and a free copy of the audiobook. This is my honest and unbiased review.
