Review: Torment

Torment Torment by Mark Tilbury
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beth and David return home to find someone has been inside and hung a wreath from Beth sisters grave over their bed….

Beth’s friend Kim, offers support and is trying to get away from her abusive boyfriend, Jonno. So Beth invites her to move in temporarily, partly for selfish reasons, so she can have company when David is at work……and won’t be alone at home.

Then Mr Tibbs disappears, photos received in the mail and David stays out all night….Kim is quick to point the blame on everyone around, maybe David is having an affair, maybe his brother is jealous of their life…..he has a key to the house after all…..

What follows is a mix of heartbreaking trauma for Beth, (poor David’s feelings are put to one side….he’s a man how could he understand) and nail biting thriller.

The tension builds as the ‘stalker’ gets closer with text messages, and more horrific items in the mail….who hates Beth so much ? Beth comes to rely on her friend, she’s her only support….then David is abducted….

A fast, paced, emotion packed and unsettling revenge thriller, believable and nerve wracking….Mars bars have a lot to answer for !!!!
