Lost Dog book Review

This is the third book that features the partnership of Gideon and Sirius. I love these characters and their relationship.

Detective Michael Gideon is a police dog handler and his partner is Sirius. Together, the find an injured dog, Angie, who is scared and her paws are ragged. They try to find her owner to return her, then discover she has been missing for several days.

Gideon discovers finds out that Heather Moreland has disappeared under what he feels are suspicious circumstances, open windows etc and the more he delves, the more he believes she may have been abducted.

He is also looking into the death of Langston Walker who had been holding a support group for families of murder victim. Langston was a retired detective with that one case that still bothered him. He had recently he had requested to have that case re-opened.

There is some humour in this story and I enjoyed all the references to music and movies from the 80s….

There is also Gideon’s girlfriend, who has the patience of a saint as he is frequently late or missing dates, when he’s so involved in his cases. Michael Gideon also has his own demons, PTSD after he received burns while pursuing a criminal and saving Sirius....So in a way, Sirius is also a therapy dog besides his partner. Alan Russell has created an original series which is thoroughly entertaining and arresting.....loved it
