Review: A Wash of Black

A Wash of Black A Wash of Black by Chris McDonald
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DI Erika Piper has just returned to work after removing from an injury at work that had nearly killed her. Straight away her first case is a murder.

Anna Symons, an actor, has been murdered and her mutilated body left on an ice rink, in a pose nearly identical to that in one of her movies. A page from a book has also been left at the scene.

“In his head, this isn’t murder, it’s art”

Soon after, a second murder is committed, just as violent. The two victims are linked but just who would want them dead?

With many suspects and a twisty plot, this really keeps you guessing. It’s a fast paced thriller with a strong and yet vulnerable too, character in Erika, this will keep you on tenterhooks from start to the breathless ending. An incredible debut thriller from Chris McDonald and I’m hoping there will be more in the series.

Thank you to Dylan at Red Dog Press for the opportunity to take part in this blog tour, for the promotional material and a free ecopy of the book. This is my honest and unbiased review.
