Review: No Way Out

No Way Out by Cara Hunter
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

Set in Oxford, this is a police procedural novel, but with a difference.

DI Adam Fawley, is in the middle of a personal crisis, with his wife having left him and he’s struggling with it, hoping she will return.

There is then a fire and two young children and their mother die tragically. This is found to be arson and the investigation begins.

I loved the way this was set out, Adam Fawley’s chapter are from his point of view, and the others from a third person view. There are then chapters giving the background of the Edmond family before the fire, with family secrets and lies. It also covers the stigma still attached to Post Natal Depression very sympathetically.

There is also a chapter covering the fire itself and this was heartbreaking, some real emotion here.

There are twists and turns leading up to the final reveal in all it’s tragic glory. A brilliant read.

I would like to thank the Author/the Publishers/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review
