Review: Punishment
Punishment by Scott J. Holliday
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Homicide Detective, John Barnes uses a machine which extracts memories from the living or the dead. These memories are downloaded into him and he experiences the life or death of that person. It’s used recreationally, as a police investigation tool and as Punishment for criminals. Murderers must relive their victims final moments but as the victim. They then feel every moment of fear, the terror, and pain their victims felt....
This story is of the detective trying to find a serial killer by logging in and experiencing the victims last memories. But it comes at a cost and John Barnes suffers psychological trauma himself. A really unique story and is so good you will not want to put it down....so clever and disturbing too
