Review: Her Last Day
Her Last Day by T.R. Ragan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Jessie Cole is a Private Investigator, who has spent the past 10 years wondering what happened to her missing sister, Sophie. After all those years searching the case has gone cold.
Sophie's story is then shown on a TV show about cold cases, this is seen by a reporter named Ben Morrison. He had been in a car accident years before where he was the only survivor and had been suffering amnesia ever since. However, The TV show causes him to have flashbacks and seems to recognise Sophie. He had been told by doctors, flashbacks may happen and he may start to remember things.
Ben arranges to meet with Jessie and decides to investigate to hopefully uncover his lost memories . Jessie has also been hired by a strange, troubled guy to help search for his missing daughter, Zee. Zee suffers from schizophrenia and has a history of wandering off for a time when she's stopped taking her meds.
There is also a serial killer in the area, The Heartless Killer targeting young women and Jessie's not sure if Zee is just wandering about or if she is in the hands of The Heartless Killer. Jessie has her own problems as she had shot a man, who she believed was about to attack her, but there is no evidence to support her....
The characters T R Ragan has created are outstanding! You really feel these characters are and either like or dislike them immediately, the writing is that good, even the rescued dog has character ..
There are a few different storylines, but they gel together so well it flows nicely and the overall tale is nail bitingly tense and I enjoyed this book immensely and look forward to the next in the series
